i have got a friend who leant us his chimney brushes (made a right mess i can tell you!) and im doing all the copper pipe work myself.
i can give you some advice on the piping and could even send you a copy of my plans so that you could do a similar thing in your home?

Really was the best thing I've done and I'm glad my wife pushed so hard to have it.
Not connected mine to the heating system but I'm interested in doing it.
Probably would mean replacing the burner I have now with one capable of connecting but it might be worth it.
Any info on how to connect would be good.

i found a local guy from a company called "ravensbourne heatplan" who came to my house, spoke to me about my requirements, measured the entire house up, looked under some of the floor boards at some of the key areas and then went away.
2 days later he called me to say he had done the drawings and booked me in to come back and talk me through it all. he then spent about 2 hours with me, talked me through the entire thing, and gave me these really beautifully drawn diagrams, from 3 different angles, a full parts list, and a diagram of exactly what goes where (he really did make it idiot proof)
and all of this for...... £50! what a bargain, and a really nice guy too!

Cant help that way i am affraid, but had my woodburner fitted last week. my advice would be completely empty the room, of everything, the soot gets everywher, and so does the dust from pecking at the wall. i didnt and took ages to get everything cleaned up. forgot to close the kitchen door when i went to work, so it had all drifted through there too..
+1 to this, i did exactly the same, almost ruined the carpet, and killed our hoover trying to get the place shipshape again!

When sweeping the chimney you must sing Chim Chim Cher-Ee and other Mary Poppins songs.
Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey
Chim chim cher-ee!
A sweep is as lucky, as lucky can be
Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey
Chim chim cher-oo!
Good luck will rub off when I shakes 'ands with you
