Hi all,

I'm still having problems with my other half's City and partly through trial and error am now pointing the finger at the dizzy.

It's a 1992 998 with a Lucas 59D4.

I have a 59D4 from my old '89 998, but I think it's a replacement dizzy, so could be from an earlier car. I always thought a 59D4 was a 59D4, but according to Minispares there's a subtle difference in the advance curve for '82-'88 dizzies and '89-'92 dizzies to allow for the changes in fuel from leaded to unleaded...makes sense. But the only other place that seems to recognise this difference is Sommerford, all the other companies that I can remember list only one type of 59D4 from '82-'92.

So is this difference true, and if so does anyone know the difference in numbers on the dizzies? I'd never heard of any difference before now.

Oli
