Has anybody fitted one of these? From what I can make out, the bracket fits onto the water pump then the steady attached to the front of the engine bay? Is this right or am I reading it wrong? if they actually work it might be worth while if it takes some of the strain off of the engine mounts etc.

It tells you exactly how it mounts in the description.

A quick google also shows various images like this.

A quick note, have a search before asking things. People get annoyed answering things that can be found easily by searches!

jonny f, the search I did before posting mainly brought back ads for people selling them. Not having much mechanical experience with minis, or any other car for that matter, I'm just after some clarity on how to fit it and, more importantly, if they're any good.

The picture you've so kindly provided helps,

Cheers!

to be honest i have one fitted... it is very simple to fit ( I fitted mine in minispares carpark in about 5 minutes) although rusty bolts could cause an issue...

it goes from the thermostat housing to the bulk head

I have the one in the OPs link. Was going to use it on my MG Metro engine. However it has bolt hole which lines up perfectly with the far right exhaust manifold nut and also the bulkhead bolt holes didnt line up... Its going to require a lot of cutting and drilling of the mount to get it to fit.
