Hey guys, iv been setting my tappets and about a week later the tapping comes back and she doesnt pull as well. Im thinking the rockers have worn but have no idea how to check this. Also had a read on the internet and seen that it could be my rocker shaft has worn, again im unsure how to determine this. I have a rocker shaft and rockers on a disused cylinder head in the garage so wouldn't cost anything to change but unsure of condition of that one aswell >_<

Doe anyone have any tips to check these?

Thanks Matt

They shouldn't wear that quickly! Are you sure it's not the timing chain?

If the rocker isn't being pressed against the valve spring, you should be able to wiggle and move it along the rocker shaft. Look for ridges worn in the pad that pushes on the valve, or on the shaft where the rocker sits.

I had an Opel once. Tappet noises, didn't pull well. Camshaft lobes were worn to circles. Valves didn't open much. Therefore low on power.
