Had a bit of a search on ebay. Not so impressed with most of the generic ones, as they dont have a cowling- I dont want my rear view hindered by red light.
Might go down to the scrappy and cut one out of something.

I bought a nearly identical one from a diredct marketer in China. When you get this unit you will find it is fairly narrow, has a solid black "back" surface so you won't be looking at red in the rear view mirror, and it's bright and long. You MAY choose to use the double-stick tape mounting feet that come with it, or you may want to bend up some smaller sheet metal feet to tuck under the rubber holding the rear glass in. I bought these to use on my Triumphs.
Years ago I bought a similar but smaller light assembly for the Mini. I didn't like how big it was so I took the lamps out and made a narrow sheet metal box to hold them. My homemade box has little tabs that tuck under the rear glass rubber to keep everything as compact as possible.

They're probably all LED jobbies these days, but make sure you avoid the traditional bulb versions if you do manage to find one. I had one of those and was forever fitting new bulbs in the damn thing. I asked an auto electrician why it kept blowing them, and was told that the amount of vibration you get from a classic mini rear screen just shakes the bulb filaments to death.
Consequently I removed the useless thing and sold it to someone else on here..... I did warn him though!!

Bracket are pretty ugly, but i have a think about that!

From the side view picture your lamp looks like the Chinese one I bought to install in our Triumph GT6. I agree the mounting "feet" are a bit unsightly but this was one of the thinnest lamp assemblies I found.
