Can someone confirm if cams are interchangeable from A to A+ engines, or are they different?

The only difference I am aware of is the method of drive for the oil pump. The latest cams have a slot that the oil pump engages with. So you will have to have the correct oil pump. The most widely available new oil pumps are A+ slot drive so this shouldn't be an issue.

Hopefully others on here can confirm this.

And the fact that some of them, like the 948, have no fuel pump drive.

Thats cool guys. I've just bought a kent 266 cam from somebody (he was confirming that it can fit both types but just thought I would ask on here as well) and it has a slot drive. My old 1275 A series has a spider drive camshaft so I guess I'll be looking for a new oil pump now! Any recomendations on what type to go for?

Get the steel backed pump - and don't lose that spider - they are hard to get these days! Keep it with the camshaft.

Ok thanks, I'll have a look for that type and costs etc. I'll certainly be keeping the oil pump and my camshaft, unknown type, being a Shetlander I never dump anything!
