A bit of a learner question.. I changed my single beams to autopal headlights yesterday and wired in my sidelights with the new bulbs and holders. But the sidelights don't work and blow the 25a fuse, so no speedo light and tail lights. Is there any change in power of the bulbs? Any thing else could be changed before I go and buy a million fuses for testing! I thought it was a straight swap?

Should be a straight swap.

Are there any wiring gremelins that you may have disturbed?

What power bulbs you using?

I replaced them to fix my full beam problem and it now works, just the sidelights now don't and blow the fuses. Electrics are all fine, I just used the new ones in the box unsure what rating off the top of my head. Only thin I could think of is the sidelight wires the wrong way round?!

Had this problem with mine. Kept blowing fuses on sidelights, took to bulb out and found one of the contacts had snapped inside and was touching the other hence blowing the fuse.

Ah ok, I was trying to see if I could use the old sidelights in anyway to avoid chopping and changing bulbs. What lamps did you use?

just had a gander and they should be 4/5w 12v bulbs so should be fine. Thanks for the comments I'll check the holders and start afresh with the fuses tomorrow :proud:

All sorted, I had to bend down a section in the headlamp bowl as the sidelight wires and holders fouled it so blew the fuse! Thanks all anyway
