I'm having trouble with my rear hubs.
I'm restoring a Mayfair from '84 (10"), and I just discovered that my rear bearings were not the same on both sides. There are Timken 07087X *2 on a side, and "Thrust RHP 4LJT22,2" on other. I'd like to know if I can replace "Thurst"s ones by Timken 07087X, or if I must replace forth by Timken NP419272-NP548549 (GHK1548).
There is a thing that makes me wondering what to do : there is a not-so-little spacment between the hub and the brake plate with 07087X, so I'm wondering if this is a good deal to keep this model.
(see the picture - on left Thrust ones, on right Timken 07087X)
What should I do, regarding to money ofc? Keep 07087X and the empty space, and change other side for same bearing (and space?) or move both sides for GHK1548 and hope that it doesn't end to the same?
Thank you very much.
