I have just picked up a old cbr 600 engine for free which has done 7000miles... i no they use the engines in buggys ect but can it pull my un-altered chassis, has anyone heard of a honda cbr 600 project engine swap for a mini?? i no the standard 1275 lump is good but a bike engine has alsways been a dream but at the same time it would mean chopping about a original 1275gt, my brain cannot choose AAAHHHHHH deadlock.....................................

The GT i have is currently in need of major resto

Depends how far you wuna go ,what your going to use the car for there is a fair bit of work involved in bike engine fitting (rear wheel drive kit etc on the conversion could cost alot not saying you have not got the money by the way . You can make a a series just as quick by overboring say to 1330 1380 and so on, camshaft ,staged head, carb, etc etc totally up to you though

Don't bother the 600 just doesn't have the torque required for a decent driving experience, your better off doing it with a litre engine as they aren't so revvy and have a decent spread of power down low in the rev range.

Good point with tuning the 1275 engine, and also its a good point with saving for a 1000ltr, i have made my mind up= sell the 600 and pay for the gt to be tuned. If i had the money though bike engine all the way. A supercharged busa sounds nice................. mabey when i win the lotto.

very true, A original is always best, i dont want to change the chassis/subframes at all, might try saving for a lynx cradle so i can bolt in and out a bike engine for racing/track use and have the a series for day to day use.... thanks for the replys.
