Whats going on??? I remember a few years back there was a spate of burglaries at Mini places, don't know whether they caught anyone or not.
Seems they're just taking whole cars now.
At least that minivan will stick out, only fear is they're in a garage being stripped.

I had my car broken into in chester so no how it feels so do many other people probable people on the forum aswell the only thing that stopped them actually stealing the car was a cruck lock believe it or not.
Cruck lock is one of the best deterant there is as it will take them ages to get it off and after all MOST theifs are opportunists don believe that probably junkies lol .
Also remember to take ur stereo cover off this again will deter them.
Not really any help but at least i sed it lol

Just look on ebay.com in the USA and you will see new MPI minis being sold as 1970's cars etc..
with 1970 vin plates.
This is one of the reasons why vin plates and V5's are selling on ebay for good money
So the cars could essentially be in a container ready to be shipped.
So as another deterent, have all the glass etched with the chassis number
and if poss, the chassis number stamped onto the car body.
another method is micro dot, this is used on bikes and involves spraying the car with tiny little dots containing a reference number which relates to that vehicle.
So even if the car is broken up into parts they can still be identified.
and it only costs about £8
MicroDots: There are now some innovative products about ,such as Alpha-Dot. 1000s of micro dots are suspended in a clear adhesive. Each dot bears a serial number, unique to that batch. You can apply it virtually any product and to any surface. Use it on fine china, antiques, electrical goods, jewellry, vehicles and more. Available from Homebase DIY for around £8 per pack.
Your security mark is a unique national reference. It provides the only guarantee that your property will be returned to you, should it be stolen and subsequently recovered

I got an idea! Now no-one is interested in the Guestmap, why don't we start a map for stolen minis? Stick on the location of the mini, and the reg number/colour and maybe a contact number (and a link to the thread where it's posted as stolen). That way people can easily reference where they are relative to nicked ones, and we can also see if there's some toerag at work in a pattern!?
sounds good to me?? also that way, if any parts are for sale in the area that look like they may have come off the stolen mini........i dunno how to word it but u get my jist??
dont ya?
