My passenger does not want to seem to lock. I'd it worth buying a second had one. Or is there a common issue with these.

Is the lock seized or does the key actually turn? When it's cold my locks like to freeze up so I can't lock or unlock them

Exact same problem as mine but I fitted remote central locking to it last year so it lock and unlocks at the touch of the button now. I will eventually get round to fixing it so it unlocks off the key lol

I've been having problems with my locks lately - my boot lock seemed to have water in it and you had to wriggle the key around a lot for it to work, and my driver's door sometimes didn't 'engage' the lock. I had a good search of TMF and the world wide web and found out about dry graphite lubricant. A local key cutting place sold me some, you can also get it on fleabay. Touch wood, it's solved both problems so it might be worth a try!

Hi,
As Camp Freddy suggests, there is a small link rod thats runs from the lock arm on the door handle to the striker assembly mechanism. As you turn the key, the arm moves so moving the rod and locking the door.

I had exactly your problem when rebuilding my doors and the small clip that holds the rod to the lock arm had come off.
Whip the door card off or un-screw the striker assembly and you may just be able to reach the rod, depending on which end has come off!!

Hope this helps, Steve, :proud:

This happened to my driver's door last week, meaning I had to scramble out of the passenger side if I wanted to lock both doors, not a good look >_< It was just the little clip that needed putting back on, and now it's as good as new =]
