time is coming up to renew me car insurance.
I never put down any mods to the car with my insurance. but im going with a new company.
Do you think i should tell them all my mods ? i wouldnt be able to claim if something happend would i ?

Like the engine-Turbo, Alloy wheels, Interior changes, Suspension, Windows - Tinted < 30%,
Exhaust/manifold-non standard, Wheel arches ?

no point having a modified car if it's falsely insured!

go with a specialist and declare them! you should find that your prmium is not that badly affected anyway and when listed you'll not have any problems when it's time to claim after an accident!

i tried confused.com. was ok insuring it as normal at £189 but when i put down the nods, they dont want to know.. err.. im 31.. lol

Try Adrian Flux, insured as a classic or as a modified.

I got quoted £150 fully comp for any mods I wanted to a classic mini. This was as a second car, but because of that didn't include any no-claims I'm 32.

ALWAYS declare any modifications you have made to the car, as stated you wont be able to claim for any damage/theft if you have not but worse is the fact that if you smash into somebody else and cripple them your Insurance company will have to pay out as its compulsory insurance but are quite entitled to sue you for the money....something worth thinking about as claims can run into £millions where there is a serious injury....

Try Performance Direct, they gave me a good quote for TPFT - £567 (998 City) but I am 24 and thats on a provisional license ! The guy I spoke to was really helpful (and based in the UK!)

Don't worry, i hit 19 with 1 year on my licence and 1yr NCB and it halved, i was paying £1098 now im paying £490 TPFT this year im going fully comp and i think its gona be bout £590.

Stick with the company ur with at the mo, but u should get a thing where they say they will beat any other quote you get, so..... have a crack on the websites (i tried quotemehappy jobby) they quoted £500, and adrianflux beat it by a ten squid, not bad! I emailed them, got a reply during the week then rang them 2days before my renewal (cutting it a bit close)

Sorry...haven't read all the replies but thought this may be helpful to someone.....

I just took out insurance with Norwich Union for my 51 plate cooper sport - it's £325 and I haven't passed my test yet!!!!! Everyone else quoted over £1k. Norwich Union go by the number of years you've held a licence for and they don't care whether it's a provisional or full UK. Since I've had my provisional for 10 years I was in luck!!! LOL
