When You hit though go through the starter motor hole
Don't do this if it's a Verto clutch and if it's pre-Verto and you hit it through the starter hole use a steel bar onto the flywheel and hit that to avoid hitting the transfer case with a hammer and breaking it. This is most important!
Search on here for 'Flywheel removal'. There are a lot of earlier threads on this as it's a very common problem.

Have you stripped the puller threads or the flywheel?
If it's the puller, get another one, tightenit all up, go for a cup.of tea, then come back, tighten it again, give it a whack on the puller, have another cup of tea, leave it under tension, give it another thwack, and tighten again!
Heat the fly wheel up, keep trying

Do you mean the flywheel is stuck on the taper or it is free but wont come off?
If so, the C shaped washer could be jamming it.....

I went to strip down the engine took the clutch housing off unbolted the clutch from the flywheel and tried to remove the clutch but it appears to be stuck on with no movement the flywhell is free from the taper but I can't get the flywheel of because the clutch is holding it
Many thanks

When removing the flywheel you should have #1 and #4 pistons at TDC because there is a C washer holding the primary gear on to the crank which can slip down if #2 and #3 are at TDC. Try turning the engine to put #1 at the top.
