Went to fit the exhaust this morning and last time when i fitted the manifold I thought 'great, exhaust next week'...

Come to fit it this morning and the manifold is pointing the complete wrong way

I fixed my door yesterday from my break in and was on a high now I'm honestly thinking of selling up, I've had enough of mini's and how crap things can be, I aint getting no where,

Anyway, any thoughts on my wonky manifold?

There is nothing wrong with the manifold, you need the proper link pipe to go with it that has the correct bend to take it through the tunnel correctly. Also with that adapter from male to female fitting, you will have no end of problems with gas leakage at that point.

Get the correct link pipe for the manifold and adapt the other end to fit your system.

A link pipe will be pretty cheap too.

Oh, and please do something with your battery cable or whatever that is hanging down, i dont want to see another mini go to heaven. Or YOU.

Its a shame you dont live closer, you need a weekend with someone like myself to sort out your niggles and then you can fall in love again.

I see it all the time, Money spent on goodies rather than sort out issues that need attention. The money that is spent on these goodies is usually more than enough to get the car in good order and nice and reliable, THEN and only then, should you start to add wants and wishes.

Cant find a link pipe for a center exit anywhere :goaway:

I got some holts gum stuff to seal the connection, to be fair its a good fit (that link pipe) but obviously not good for the shape of the mini!

Any links mate? I'm at a dead end

And yeah yeah I know haha, my mini aint finished yet so still a few jobs ;)

So true. I am naive when it came to a few parts of my project, and didnt think about it properly.

I dunno...

Get the link pipe for a side exit if you cant find the right one, then as suggested previously adapt the rear end, you can cut the rear bend off and adapt the end to fit maybe with that adaptor you have already.

just search for a RC40 type link pipe.!

Something like this?

http://www.scparts.c...log.tpl,x-a.htm

scroll down to part number 326268

You can see the offset bend in the piccy, and you will understand what i mean.

Appreciate the help.

I have a cherry bomb back box with a custom type link pipe jobby already on there which is for a LCB not a free flow so could I theoretically just get some bent pipe and then make a small (10''?) link pipe? So it goes... freeflow - link pipe - massive link pipe - back box

if you have the original centre pipe with the bends then use it.
if you have some bits of exhaust pipe that you want to make fit thats what you'll have to do. Allow at least 2" to push onto/into the freeflow to assure a good seal and clamp has something to hold onto
once you have the bits of the centre pipe in position, weld it together or you'll be posting about clamps keep falling off.

I've cut it up and actually made a pretty decent little bit

Posted Image

Only problem is that its 1.75'' ex dia. so it fits inside my exhaust link pipe and is exactly the same as the free flow one :/

What about cutting up that little link pipe from earlier and putting that flange on this new one so it fits over the freeflow? ANDDD.. then weld it to the exhaust link pipe

freeflow --> flange welded to this cut up link pipe i just made and clamped into place (male female) --> weld that whole new piece to exhaust link pipe/back box

Job done?

If that bit you have fits over then you can use it, down to you angle, onto your centre pipe. then add your back box.
Tack it all before you weld fully, so you can correct any fitment issues easier

That new bit is exactly the same as the freeflow 1.75 ex dia.

Shall i save the hassle and buy this?
