Hey everyone, newbie to Mini parts as I just got my baby a month or two ago, I'm looking for a look on Mini that will turn heads so much that they might snap. I was looking at these:

not entirely sure whether these are e marked or not, best to phone huddlesfield and ask

if not have a look at these - http://www.minispare...|Back to search

they have the reflector in the back so the lens is completely clear, give good light output and very good quality being made by wipac, i have a set myself ;D

They are made by Autopal. I had a set of standard Autopal headlight units a few years ago and they were much better than the Wipac Quadoptics and nearly as good as the Cibie ones which are probably the best available for a Mini. So these should be fine.

I did a road rally where spotlights were not allowed, so I fitted 130 watt headlight bulbs in the Autopal lenses. The result was fantastic (yes, I know they were illegal, so are my current 100 watt heads with Hella lenses).

I've got the Wipacs with the 100W (illegal) headlight bulbs and they're brilliant headlights.....though you'll need a relay to protect your old wiring from melting if you go for higher-than-candle-power-bulbs.

Anyway, if they're E-marked, they're legal. If not, they'll fail the MOT.

I have these on my Mini and they are not E marked so are not road legal in the UK. However the MOT man didn't seem to mind them and other than having to adjust the beam slightly they didn't cause an issue. Prob just an oversight though rather than them being OK and think I was lucky.

Dammit - wish I hadn't bought the Wipacs a while ago

The current Wipacs are much better than the earlier Quadopotics. The Wipacs in my Innocenti really are quite good. It was the original Quadoptics which seemed to just chuck the light all over the place except as a good beam down the road in the direction of travel.
