Have you checked out the lower part of the windscreen seal?

possibly door seals too.

To check, sit in the car with a few sheets of kitchen roll. hold a bit against the seal, and have a friend (or family member!) pour or hose (depending on the bans in your area!) water on that area from the outside. If you have a leak, it'll move through the leak and soak the paper. you can then change the offending seal.

Have you got a pic of the area where the rust is? it could help us narrow it down.

There's also a slight chance that's its actually coolant leaking into your footwell from the hoses attached to the heater.

the inside of the sill will never be watertight. Mine's in bits because that whole area was one big hole, and it looks as though the jacking point is not sealed at all, so it's probably coming in there. Though just to check, get on your knees and have a good look under the side of the car along the whole length. you may have other holes (I hope not!)

You can patch the hole by welding a small piece over it, and then waxoyl inside the sill. I suspect that if there is a hole in it now, then the rest of the panel isn't going to be very nice, but it's not a quick and easy job to change. Eventually you'll need new inner sills.

Of course if it has genuine sills there would be drain holes... so I assume you have oversills !

have a look at the seals for the door stop, by the interior light switch on the a post, if its perished at the top the water could come in through there, down the a post into the sill then out of your hole, ad a new seal and no longer leaking

This could be a area you could check.

I noticed that i had water on the door seal at the bottom after it rained hard, check the seal no water there. So where was it coming from?

I had to replace my winder mech cus the glass clamp at the bottom buggared off and disintigrated! After that i noticed that the door cards where bowing so water + wood = bowing.

The water was leaking from the winder mech where the putty wasn't quite all there, moved some around a bit and its seems to have helped.

Just have a look wont take you 20mins.

Nate.
