got some bad dents in my cooper roof from where the previous owner "sat" on the roof. Don't want to pull the headliner down and such and such. What do you think of possibly tac welding something to the roof and then pulling them out. The roof is going to be repainted (Roller STYLE!) so I'm not to worried about ruining my paint work. Thanks

Maybe. Depends on the kind of dent.
But you won't be able to do a proper job with the headlining on anyway because there is no way to get under there with a hammer to knock some of the different dents out

A slide hammer. Normally used to pull hubs off but we
Have adapted it for this kind of task. Does a good job but it's
Easy to overkill. So take care!

hmm a slide hammer you say, sounds interesting. Would you recommend welding a nut on then, or drilling like you're supposed to.

I really wouldnt want to be welding my roof to pull out dents!
I would take the headlining out, and knock them from below, adding heat into the area will change the shape and properties of the metal and shrink it so that dent wont probably pull out correctly and you will end up with a ripply roof

mmmm, how hard is it to remove the headlining and costs difficulty of putting the new one in? I would guess you would have to replace it
