lightly ported 12g295 head
hiff 44
lcb
rc40
will give good performance but without throwing a lot of money at one it will not out perform an 1275cc.
THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR CUBIC CAPACITY

I have a 1275 mg metro sitting in the shed but would a 998 tuned be better at my age , a standard 998 is so slow . would i get insured on a engine swap / anyone simlar age had dealing with this ?
Be warned that a 1275 MG metro unit with a stage 1 kit will give you over double the BHP of a standard 998. Regardless of your age, many insurers refuse to insure engine mods that more than double the BHP, as I discovered recently when trying to insure the MG metro engine that's in my 998 Mayfair.

But a high revving 998 makes hell of a noise :)
I'm 19 with an mg metro powered car that was originally 998, quotes I've had are very reasonable, but it is my second car and would only come out at weekends.
