A neat idea I copied from someone a couple of years ago. Share and share alike and all that:

Like it and i cannot see why you could not use a standard boot (touch heavy) and use the normal locking handle. Quick release plug jobs a good un. Why you would do it for a road car who knows but why not.

definitely going to do this. No reason behind it, other than because I can :D I thought about using a removable pin to make it quick release before, but thought the bumper wouldn't make life great lol

cheers for posting =]

A genuine original idea, I think. Nicely implemented, especially how the hinges are modded, which is neat and effective. I happpen to dislike the appearance of those particular Dzuz latches, although they work very well and have been installed neatly, but there are other latches available, or maybe even something completely concealed, operated by cable or solenoid? I am thinking of normal road use here, where the boot needs to be secure against thieves.

I like the idea of being able to remove the lid completely to get easier access for maintenance. I know that similar things have been done with bonnets, using quick release pins, but I can now see how it might be possible to just modify the hinges so they can be unhooked when it is open.

I've been through a whole host of latches and eventually found these to be the best comprimise between looks and functionality.

The regular Dzus clips look great but are a pain to get right.

I do agree with you saying that the normal dzus clips being a pain to set up, but when they are done right thru can pull the panels on really nice and tight. We use them on all of our Motorsport caterhams, and they are superb. I will be using these on my miglia project for the front end, hopefully it will be a real snug fit
