Hi all I've read loads of threads on this but can't really find the info I need so here's my problem I've taken the lip off a mk3 bonnet to achieve the mk1 look all the gaps look pretty good except the bonnet hangs over the front panel slightly it's as far back as possible so just after suggestion really. My thoughts where to cut a slit on the side of the bonnet and slightly bent and weld in position
Thanks guys.

hi there is it a genuine bonnet? try looking at the thread on here for door gaps it also covers the bonnet too and is a very good guide you have a couple of options what is the scuttle gap like? if there is room there but the hinge is adjusted as far back as it can you can always slot and extend the hinge mounts lots less work than slotting the bonnet. Contact sonikk4 he is the resident guru on these matters as he wrote the guide.

You may be able to get some leeway in this by getting a bit brutal with the front panel.
First question though is the overhang consistent across the front of the bonnet?? If its more in the middle then you may be able to pull the front slam panel section out a bit. Be careful though as you may over do this.
If you decide to try and cut the front of the bonnet this will then raise some issues. Due to the curvature of the bonnet it will be difficult to maintain the curve. Don't get me wrong it can be done but you need to have a good eye and also where you make the cut because of the centre ridge.
