Folks, what colour is this mini?

This is my wife's old 1979 1275GT, that we sold some 14 years ago, I'm just now completing a 1979 1275 GT rebuild for her which is exactly the same vintage and identical in every respectt, except it was originally blue. I'd like to recapture the glories of yesteryear (wouldn't we all), and have it painted in the same colour as the old one.

I thought it was originally Blaze red, but now I think it might be Cinnabar. Is Cinnabar right for a 1979 GT?

It certainly looks redder, both in this picture and in my memory than either Blaze or Vermillion. So I guess that's another way to ask the same question, Vermillion is really orange, Blaze is a bit deeper and redder, is Cinnabar redder still, and what's next on the orange to red scale?

Sorry about the poor quality pics. The pics are here http://www.akccmoore...rgbracer/?p=799, about halfway down

Cheers
Adrian

Thanks folks, in the end got some rattle cans mixed up for a direct comparison. I can confirm that Vermillion is really quite orange, Blaze is mainly orange with a hint of red, and Cinnabar is red with a touch of burnt orange. All look orange under artificail light, and all appear "different" as they move through different lighting conditions, but the realtionship of Vermillion always being the most orange, and cinnabar being the most reddish always holds true.

I've got some test plates which I'll take a piccy of for you all.

Vermilion BVLC 118 was the only Orangey Red colour available in 1979.
