just wandering you always hear about towing witha a saloon but is it possible to tow with a pickup/van/estate

Just move the numberplate up onto one of the rear doors and remove the mounting bracket,estates are even better than saloons at towing because of their longer wheelbase.

Remember that estate, vans and pickups have a lower towing weight limit of 300kg's compared to the 400 kg of the saloon.

wow, only 400 kg! I pulled 1 tonne of sand with mine. Weigh bridge man thought it was hilarious when i couldn't get off the flat bridge because of the covering of sand. It was ok on tarmac tho.

When i was young and had no sense, i remember going on holiday with my wrinklies in a blue mini traveller, towing a caravan and the towbar had to be supported by a bit of Sisal rope to the rear door handle.

Dont suppose you will get away with that these days.

Thanks for the advice but do you know of any tow hitchs for sale for a pickup or will I have to make one if so has any one got any pictures cheers Dan
