So my choke cable has come loose from the nut on the dashboard.
Due to my troll hands and the brilliant design method, I, as well as many others i'm sure, am struggling to get the bad boy back on and go on tight.
Not only is it a tight space but I can't even seem to get a tool to it as its also out of view :|
I dropped the heater unit to create some space but i still have no luck, the best i've got is finger tight.
Anyone got any methods?

Try undoing the two nuts that hold the switch panel to the lower dash rail and withdraw the entire switch panel, you should then be able to get access to the choke and heater cable retaining nuts from above and below. Be warned though removing the switch panel nuts requires small troll like hands to some extent anyway, also depending on your wiring, it's sometimes easier to disconnect and remove the switches from the panel first, before withdrawing the panel itself from the lower dash rail.

But if I took the heater cable nut off too and took the panel off then i'd have twice as much work trying to fit two nuts back on the choke and heater cables fixing the panel back?

No you don't have to remove the heater cable retaining nut as well, I was just pointing out that by withdrawing the switch panel in this way you can get access to both the choke and heater cable nuts using this method. (should you need to do the same thing to the heater control at some point) Admittedly all this does involve a whole load of work in removing the switches and panel etc just to get access to one nut, but having to take half the car apart just to perform a two minute task is half the fun of owning a mini! Clearly you've not had the pleasure of having to take the petrol tank out, just to replace the rear near side shock absorber yet then?

Haha don't I know! and no I haven't, not yet anyway!
I'll take another look at it early tomorrow so I don't run out of daylight
