Ive had both a weber and a dellorto, both being 40's on a swan neck and a stub stack
dellorto was awesome, i didnt loosen power just gained torque when i had the weber i lost about 10 bhp for reason. you would of thought both would of been less on a swan neck/stub stack.
but neverless, i want to put a 45 on a good manifold, the thing is I have three clocks in the middle of my dashboard, obviously I would have to have a battery box or simular.

my question is, is there no way of sqeezing the weber on a good manifold behind these clocks? or would i HAVE to have the clocks on the side?

thanks! :P

Maybe. Maniflow do a 2 3/4 manifold thats good, you may be able to run a cut down weber box and for it to still fit behind gauges.

28/36 is a good carb and can be jetted to give results like a HIF44, see Vizards Book on the 28/36.I had one years ago on a 998 Cooper and worked very well

I run a 45 on a 2.75 manifold with a K&N filter with a battery box, my clocks are in front of the steering wheel. Whilst I wouldn't contradict people like maniflow i would be surprised if you could squeeze a 45 with a sub stack behind a centre speedo without a battery box certainly not with a full size K&N.

Maniflow steel inlet manifolds are excellent but do you need a vac feed for a servo? if so the alloy predrilled manifold may be the way to go

thats my query, trying to figure out if i could fit any kind of battery box behind my centre dial, like a normal dashboard with the top and lower dash rail just with center dials :P

Years ago I had a 66 cooper with a 1275 and I also had a Weber 45. I didn't have a manifold so I made one from pipe. it did fit, though with no air filter, just stub stacks, Now Maniflow has these wonderful short manifolds where they say
"Ideal for fitting air filter in engine bay, without any modifications to body. fits both 45 DCOE and DHLA"
would definitely go for that, especially after just welding up my 64 back to original where some Swede put in a box.

i think it may have to be this manifold then :P
but im not bothered about putting in a box i just wondered if anybody new if you could a box in behind a normal dash with the clock in the middle :P
