Need to change the front bump stops. Do the cones need to come out? I know to take them out you need a special tool. I have hi-los fitted to the car, if that makes any difference. it has been lowered on so could i wiggle them out with out the tool?

As far as I know they are just on a nut and bolt and easy to remove if you can get to the nut....;)... Just jack each side up and when you look it's pretty easy to see what's what

Cheers james

i had a look today while i was doing the steering rack, but couldn't see how i could get anything in there to take the old ones off, saying that i didn't try to get anything there either.

People say you can with a bent spanner, but it will be tight. I did it while I had a bare subframe and still found it tricky with a 'normal' spanner.

when i changed mine in the past i found if i cut the old rubber off then i could undo it from the underside and just get a spanner to hold the nut in the awkward turret ,then reassemble turning the new bump stop into the new nut until fully tight then just a turn or two with the spanner from the rear .Not the easiest job to do .

so it is possible to get a spanner in? On the drivers side the rubber is no longer there, just the metal plate!!!

that's awesome mate, ill try doing it when I do my tower mounts, found my left tower mount was basically non existent when I did my rack today. So that explains the loud nock i had from the left side on bumps, i thought it was the bump stops

i need to change mine, the right hand side one fell off when i touched it, and the left one will do the same soon. and the height, or lack of height, wont be helping much either
