In a bit of a dilemma at the moment. The other day I tripped over while at home and dropped my Ipad 2 After going to an Apple store I was told that they would not beable to fix the screen and my options are:
*Trade my Ipad 2 with the cracked screen in to Apple and pay £199 for a refurbed Ipad 2 that will have a 3 month warranty
*To get the Ipad 2 screen replaced at a non Apple place, looking around on the net this will cost about 75 pounds plus postage. New screen will have 3 month warranty.
*To buy the ipad mini which costs £269 and then sell the ipad 2 with cracked screen on ebay, which i would imagine would get around the 150-190 pound mark on ebay.
The Ipad that I dropped is 12 months old and thus runs out of warranty at the end of the month anyway. Warranty is pretty important to me as I have had a couple of problems with my iphone before and due to it being in warranty they have replaced it no questions asked. To all those that ask why do you have an ipad in the 1st place the answer is simple, I dont have a laptop as it is not necessary for me.
Anyway thanks for reading, what would you do? Thanks?

I'd go for option 2 get the screen replaced. Surely the cost of then selling a 'working' iPad 2 will bring in more cash even taking in the cost of replacement screen and the money you can get for it broken.

Hi there cheers for that, only real worry though is that as the ipads out of warranty it wont make that much 2nd hand. But anyway yeh probably gonna go for option number 2. Was really just looking for an excuse to get the mini as I travel around alot. lol.

I have a new ipad, and had it a month and smashed it!
I just bought new parts of amazon and did it myself, good as new, it really isn't difficult to do!

It cost me 35 quid to get mine good as new!
You get tools, but I put mine I'm the oven to soften up the glue, really not that hard! Honestly! Try it :)
