And it's not a case of people not being able to modify cars it's just the cost as an iva alone is a couple of hundred then you have a lot of bits to buy to make it pass an iva :)

Its having the time to start from scratch to be honest mate.
They can be purchased relatively cheaply now due to the IVA issues and I don't want to chop up a half decent car to make one.
A rotten shed would just take too much time up that I don't have spare.
I did meet someone recently who had one for sale in his garage unfinished but still wanted £2.5k registered as a saloon.
They don't make that sort of money as projects anymore as people have realised its going to be hell to get through an IVA and the rules are getting stricter for every MOT.
Most have gone overseas now but it would be good to save one and keep it at the shows.

Usually colleges and training academy's cannot sell the vehicles once they have been worked on by students.
Worth a punt though.

but its sat there for the 3 years I was there and a few before it and it will only get scrapped at somepoint when they want the space so they may let it go,
you can finish the fuel tank too! (I moved the filler neck into the boot but never got round to plating the hole where the filler neck was as thats when I brought my mini in to work on)
