Actually out of interest, i know this is a z cars thread, but its still on the topic of weight loss I was thinking of putting in a carbon boot floor, but do you think it would be ok ( strength wise) with a coil over shocks conversion?

Bracing would benefit, although bonding agents are really good now

Only concern id have is the rear of the subframe going, assuming your removing to fit a beam along with the coilovers.
To add bracing between the towers you would also be required to remove the fuel tank and and fit an alloy replacement

i Cant see any probs! are you using a rear beam? if so that will be ok, i used a new mini van floor as it has ribs in it for strength! made a template out of a big sheet of card it was a perfect fit!

The reason why I ask is because I was going to strengthen the shock mounts/ wheel arches with triangular sections which may intrude on the floor plan, which scuppers the wish for a carbon floor

just cut the roof off the mini leaving a 75mm lip around the edge with the weight saving of 6.7kgs... thats a good saving! and less body roll!
