Here's my 1984 Mini City E which I picked up in September. I'd been looking for a year to find a prefect mini to restore which was also close to where I live... Then I found this, tucked away inside a barn where its been for years. There is a very minimal amount of major body repairs which need to be made, the main work lies in the mechanical side. With the help of my dad we are going to refit a 1000cc engine and replace the current non-original 1275cc engine. There is no real time limit for the project, anytime between my 17-18th birthday will be great!

Nice little project, and same colour as my last 3 minis ;)
Look forward to seeing the 1275 in the for sale section ;)

Very cool barn find project mate. Keep us updated with lots of pictures and stories of your progress!
It looks like a very good little base but just from the two pictures posted I can spot a few suspect looking areas. In saying that its better than a car that has been filled and botched to keep it MOT worthy (just about!) each year. I can't wait to see more progress and another one brought back to life.

Few hours work done today with dad. Managed to take out the headlining, found a few spiders and snails living in there :0 sadly had to throw away the old headlining as it was too far gone :/ Also started to investigate and see how bad the welding of the replacement sills was, things weren't too good but nothing that can't be fixed after a day or 2 of welding, need to pick up some new grinding disks tomorrow to grind away some more metal, keep an eye out for more info! A few other things we did: 1) Filled in a few small scratches and dents we found 2) anti-rust primed the roof gutter.
That's all for today... More pictures (much better quality) will be online at http://www.mini.james-swift.co.uk (scroll to the bottom for latest updates!) :) thanks for looking!

Not that much work done today, got to work removing the rear valance which was rotten, this exposed to rear subframe too which looks in a good condition... thankfully! Although there was some snails living inbetween the subframe and body ;) Also began to prime the roof around the gutters. Thanks for looking!
