Hi there

i have found some blueprints that my dad managed to buy from Don Moore (cambs) when he was closing up. they look to be for a triumph dolomite sprint racing engine. my dad says that he did the British Leyland saloon car racing engines. these are the ones he would have used to modifiy the works engines ( if my dads info is correct) so my guess is that they are fairly rare..for any confirmation there is an adress on the front (think they must have been posted) to

RS race engineering
cambridge place
cambridge
cb21ns

(happy putting up adress becuase im sure this place is LONG gone :P)

there are many sheets.. a good 10 - 15 sheets, these are two.

they have been damaged by just damp air. they have been kept in a cold working garage for 20 years..

oh and also, they are huge. there is an Iphone 4 for referance. ( about 4.5 inch long)

I wouldn't think they are particularly valuable but they are very interesting. If you think they are dolly stuff perhaps worth sending an email to the triumph owners club?

Hmm, I thought they would be super sought after. Granted there may not be many triumph owners here but.. These were probably the blurprints don used to blueprint the works dolly sprint engines!! Lookin to sell

We are currently building two Group 2 Dolomite Sprint Engines for the European Classic Touring Car Championship. Having grown up in the Cambridge area and met Don Moore, I would be very interested in your blueprints - just for historical reasons. Metal technology, drawing and designs have marched on significantly, but it would be good to see what he was actually up to!

Classic old fashioned drawing office material. Could be worth something to the right person. Nice find!

Imagine one day, when the A series engine is hard to come by and there are very few to zero engines up for sale..... and something like these turn up. Ideal for engineering companies to replicate to original drawings and not patterns.

But like I say only to the right person.

Does anyone know what happened to these drawings? I've been looking for them for years.

Please PM me if you know. Many thanks,

Tom

There are usually loads of blueprint copies when it comes to engineering drawings, however with older cars they would be rarer and these looks in pretty good condition despite the UV damage.

Always wanted a set of these in a picture frame in my garage. Doesn't matter which car lol

I believe they were sold to a dolomite enthusiast, it may be best to PM the original poster and ask he can put you in touch.
