So this is my first ever car, and I really Want to keep it nice. By what I can guess it has had a recent spray job as I wasnt put down on the V5.

Now that it hasnt been dry stored over the last month as I have been prepping the garage, a little rust has appered and I thought I would have a go at fixing the paint.

Any ideas on how to fix the rust, and what I could do about the blue comming through. Would a slight sand a T-cut do the trick?

Unfortunatly that rust is in the seems will be far worse under the paint, you can treat it to slow it down, but a) the rust treatments don't always work, b) you can't treat it as it between 2 bits of metal ie: in the seams of the panel.
By the looks of your last photo the scuttle looks hand painted and that could be due to it being full of filler and then been painted over.
The best advise to give will be a new wings welded in, but if you brought the car on a budget I'm guessing you won't be able to stretch to that, sadly treating and painting will only last a couple weeks before that rust will bubble back through!

Well thats a shame. I just bought some new wax so I will wash it down and wax it. I guess I will just start saving my pennys and replace a little bit at a time.

Cheers for the help

I agree with corridor v6, that scuttle looks dodgy. Go over with a magnet and see if it sticks. You may find things you don't want to but best to know. Sorry to be negative. If it does need doing, do it bit by bit and don't bodge as that costs more in the long run.
