Med X Pin Diff Any Good

As title says really . Started to do my gearbox today and now found the diff is worn well parts in diff are worn . I can just rebuild it but iv seen alot of people just go for x pin diffs so going to buy a new diff

Hat are med ones like any problems with them ?
And can i use the standard diff ratio with an xpin

Engine is a 1380

Oh right okay thank you mate is there any better diffs out there thats the same price or would you say there all the same

If you consider using the old fibre washers check the output shaft end float back into the planet gears, i've had difffs wheres the fibre washers have worn to a fag paper thickness and in one case completely worn through. Mini Spares do two thicknesses of fibre washer the BTA 101 and BTA102

I might aswell replace them right? And why are there 2 sizes what should i get

they are usually replaced which size depends on the wear/mileage of the car. the thicker washer can lock the diff

Were abouts are these shims exactly and the engine was apparently on around 40k

The above link is more to do with shimming the diff when placed in the gear case, not the actual build of the differential...

Thanks for the offer guess works but i was going to try and do it myself so i can learn i wilm bare it in mond that i can send it to you tho :) so really i just need to order a new diff and just assemble it

Should i also replace the big bearings on the diff to

I too have used the minispares 4 pin with no problems. I have alctually yet to see a worn one!!I I built one only yesterday, and it went together very well.

Okay so the med one is the minispares one then :) if so il be having one alot or people have given good ratings on them
