99% they are both late types 80s early 90s, the top one looks like the one originaly fitted to my sprite which is 1995 and the lower one looks like its from a mini city. not 100% sure somebody will come along and correct me if i am wrong

I'm pretty sure the bottom one is austin which I think is 80's?

is it possible that the bottom one is from an austin??? wasnt there a logo on the grille from austin??? no sure about that....

i think theres an 'austin' logo and a 'rover' that fits in that metal plate on the middle right

Does the second grille have a built in splash shield ? Seems to be blanked off around the dizzy area

The top one looks like a Mk3 grille that's been painted black, could be a Special with the badge removed.

From 1978 (mk4) they had those top black grilles. On youtube is a video from that period showing of the top grill.

The bottom one is '80s. I think in beginning with austin logo, late 80s it had the text MINI on it.

From 1992 minis had internal bonnet release. So your mini sprite probably had a closed black grill, not with an opening like the top one.

Surfblue and gerits are right, My '79 city has the black grill, and my old '88 designer had the pressed type with the splash guard....
