Hi there guys,

Still trying to sort out this lumpy idling. Today I unplugged the lambda sensor and went for a drive, and it drove exactly the same, no difference! Maybe it felt a little peppier but that could just be my imagination.

Surely if the lambda sensor was working properly, when unplugged the engine would respond/drive differently?

Thanks

Did you check the wiring? It has a tendancy to melt the cable as it is close to the manifold....

If you un plug a sensor, most of the time it will revert back to what factory settings were. You will have created a fault code now as well
If the car was not up to temperature it won't make a difference anyway, as it doesn't use it until up to temperature.
Why did you unplug it in the first place?

Thats true but even if it did, you probably wouldnt notice much of a difference as the sensor just gives finer control.

The only way to test the sensor is to measure the output voltage vs speed/load
