Also, does any one have a pic of their brake pipes and fuel lines coming into the engine bay?
Thanks in advance

I have also thought about spraying the mini back white, to it's log book colour... Saves me changing logbook details, but also will look slightly more original, atleast until I get the arches and things on!
No working on it today, I'm at work (inconveniently) and then I have rounders tonight! So will have to wait until tomorrow!
Enjoy the sun!!! 😎

The engine going in is getting closer and closer... A huge thanks to my friends... Some old and some new, all going out of their way to help me!
Picking some parts up tomorrow, and some are in the post on the way, so hopefully over the next week or so, the jigsaw will be being pieced together and can see where I am upto. Probably need lots more things.
Most people in the mini scene have said they will help me if I give them a list of parts. This has caused me headache after headache as it's my first mini, and it is an auto to manual conversion, so most the bits I need wasn't there to start with!
Also thanks to everyone who create threads and posts on here because I have spent many hours looking at various things!

sooo... it's been a looooong few years!!! mini is probably worse off now than it was at the beginning of the build, thanks to the lovely chap at North West Mini Centre - paid out £2000, for him too stop answering calls, texts etc etc! No return of the mini, engine and boxes full of parts - paid someone to go and retrieve the mini for me. He has returned it in a worse state and obviously done nothing with the car other than mix up lots of the parts, including sending me a different engine. After speaking to several of his other customers it was clear to see a trend in his behaviour, and luckily the police began to build a case against him and he went to court. A 2 year sentence was given, but this was suspended for 2 years and he was given 250 hours of community work. I think the court case was about a year ago, and it's taken a lock down caused by a global pandemic to spike my interest in the mini, Began to tidy up the garage to get ready to sell the whole lot, and now stuck in 2 minds about whether to have another go, or just sell the lot and put my interest else where!
Recommendations for other garages who could do the mechanical work to get the engine in would be a great help right now whilst I weigh up the options available - the whole experience has really made me question trust in businesses, but deep down I know 99.5% of people in the mini scene are decent folk.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to read about your Mini. There are good businesses out there, there are good people on this forum who I'm sure can recommend places local to you.
But first i guess you need to decide what you want to do. I'm sure I'm with most here that will want to see you finish what you have started. Remember it was never Little Henry's fault some scum bags did the dirty on you. :) Little Henry has feelings too. :) I hope what ever you decide to do brings better luck and you never regret your decision.

I like your thinking! hopefully I can find a decent and reputable business it will turn out ok in the end!

Fitting an engine in a Mini isn't that difficult. It'd help if we had a better idea of what would actually needs doing.
Perhaps current circumstances could play to your advantage if you have somewhere to work on him. There must be enough student mechanics and other potential spanner wielders stuck twiddling their thumbs - if there's nobody in the family up to advising 'n assisting you to have a go yourself.
