Turbo and supercharging would it be worth doing both or just doing a supercharger conversion?

Yeah VW make a 1.4L TSI engine that uses a small Eaton M25 supercharger and a turbo.

Definitely wouldn't be a simple engine to build or cheap. I'm not sure you much change if any from 10k.

If you are going to do one over the other, then chose the turbo not the supercharger. Yes you can have both, but it's lots of effort for no real gain.

Better to fit a 16v K head, a turbo and get an easy 250 bhp.

As Wil said, a turbo on its own would be best. It could provide as much power as you would need to destroy the gearbox, diff and everything in between, or if that's not your cup of tea you could produce a low boosting, quick spooling, fun daily driver, that will be able to get over 40mpg. Whereas most super chargers will be limited when it comes to maximum power because they reach a point where they just end up producing more heat and no more power, and will also result in poor fuel economy - although they will produce boost from the go.

And regarding super and turbo charging, there wouldn't be much space under the bonnet, more expensive and you wouldn't gain a whole lot over just a turbo, just boost coming in 500-1000rpm sooner or so.
