Sorry nar its not urgent but was working on car in garage and i did think it was somink to do with pedal as iv just fitted a clutch pedal as part of my conversion auto to manual . Thank you

If it wasnt needed it wouldnt be there. I would fit it for what its worth.

Okay has any one got a pic of it fitted as i have no clue were it is from i never took it off just found it in my car were pedals are

comes off the bolt that holds the pedal box to the bulkhead , the right hand bolt

and the attached soft piece acts as a cushion, so there is no metallic clunk as the pedal is released. Ingenious, simple design, brought to us by BMC engineers. Thanks to Sir Alec for the concept, Jack Daniels who designed it and Charles Griffin who developed it. So please check if you have one fitted and if not please fit it. Only takes a few minutes, one nut! We are "standing on the shoulders of giants"
