hi,
Having read other topics im starting to think that my engine might not work! :'(
we're putting an auto engine on to a manual box and having read another topic it says that the oilways are different between the manual block and the auto block
any info much appreciated

Never had one side by side but, yes, they are different. To be able to mate an auto block with a manual box there is a lot of machine work to be done. It is not a straightforward swap with a bit of tinkering.

Never looked myself but seen it said many times that they are just not compatible and I have never heard of anybody converting one !!!

Got as far as trying to fit an oil filter head yet? When you do I think you'll start to see the problems. It's a very prescise machining operation to get all the new oilways you need drilled in the right places and the unused ones plugged, and probably more expensive than a new block unless you're willing to give it a go yourself.
