Has anyone got or knows where there is a diagram to show how the aftermarket bottom engine steady fits... Posted Image
I believe it bolts on under the clutch housing... and fxes to the rear leg of the subframe? will i have to drill a hole in the subframe?
A diagram would be of great help methinks... thanks in advance.

which one did you get? LH or RH. (remember thats from standing behind the car looking forwards).

Either way, theres only really one way onto the gearbox it'll fit (reasonably), and then you just loosely attach the arm. swing it up, make a mark and drill the hole! keep it straight against the bracket though. it has a bit of length adjustment, but not really for not getting it straight.

looking at the passenger (LH) side of my subby, there's already a large hole which I "assume" is the hole it fits straight to, and on the drivers side, there is a smaller hole in the same place which should just need opening up to the correct size.

Not sure pikey ..as it came with the car, I'm replacing my bushes on the top engine steady and thought I'd fit the bottom one at the same time. I would imagine by offering it up I'll work out which side it goes on? .. and basically I will have to drill a hole in the subframe? I'm sure I'll work it out !!
Will it be that much better with the bottom one on?

if thats the one you have in got in the pic, then I *think* it is for the clutch end (RH). I'll have to go and look at mine (been waiting for about 4 months to get a LH one delivered from Minisport! Not a happy chappy!)

EDIT: If you read the thread at the top of the FAQ section, there is a good pic of the LH extra steady, so yes, its a RH one. Have a read through that too for a guide on how to fit it!
