Ok, so I'm a bit of a starter, i had a 1986 mini advantage 998,
It's all standard in the engine department, however recently the problem i'm about to describe has worsened, and now i'm at a slight loss as to what to do:
She starts kicking under accelaration, i think its misfiring, but it seems to worsen if i dont ease off the throttle, which on a dual carraidgeway can sometimes mean i'm doing 40 mph...
It judders and then catches back up again, but if i dont let it rest, it carries on until i have to pull over
I have replaced the rotor arm, coil, spark plugs, HT leads and distributor cap, and now a bit lost as to what to do
Hope someone can help!
thanks
will

It is well worth looking on ebay for "new old stock" condensors and points and rotor arms.

Consider a change to electronic, no points or condensor to worry about and for less than £30 you can have better reliability, several to choose from and lots here have done the conversion is less than half an hour
