In process of a turbo rebuild and would like to know how i find out if my actuator is crap or not? I havent used the turbo (hence the rebuild) so i have no idea if the actuator works. Its fairly grubby but apart from that looks ok? Its a T3 with standard actuator.

Thanks very much!

you could always test it if you have access to an airline. Connect it up and see if it moves at the correct pressure?

Brilliant idea! But would it only read 4psi as the standard actuator works at? Is there a max psi i should put through it? I only want to run about 7psi i assume i would be ok to put that into it?

Try a foot pump.

Generally, if it moves it's working. But I once had one (not the same type as yours) that worked fine on the airline, but kept sticking, causing over-boost and ultimately melted things.
