
Cable Confirmation Please

The thick brown and purple cable from the alternator wasnt going anywhere. i found a similar size cable bolted to the starter motor. should these be connected?. if they are then it was right infront of me the whole time!! im worried a may have spun the connector out when removing the cable on the alternator. does anyone know if this would bugger it?

Earlier minis and other cars did not have this.
So in theory you good replace it with a normal cable, but you would be undertaking that risk.
Fusible link cables should be available as all modern vehicles have them.
Are you sure yours has failed? Check the continuity across each nd of this cable.
I thought your original post referred to a missing connector, not a blown fuse link?

It might be better to use a large in line fuse instead of nothing.
