I understand these are pretty rare and hard to get hold of but they are the aluminium wheel arches/arch extensions that i'm after. They also come in fibreglass i believe, either is what i'm after :)

does anyone know where i can buy reproductions or anyone have a set in good condition that i'm there willing to part with?

some pics stolen from 'The Beans' thread

Good luck finding a set, I've been looking for a loooong time.

As far as I know no one has ever made FG ones although you could modify a set of Group 2 narrows for the same look.

Also summs116 have you asked ABS Motorsport? I'd imagine it's something they could do in FG fairly simply.

summs116 if you manage to get another set would you enquire about possibly more? i'd love to have a set! lol
Abs is a good call though, if i was to give them a message what would they need?

I keep looking for some to take moulds to make carbon copies

Would there be any interest if I was to offer them for sale?

I have two of them that are surplus to my requirements. I think they've been a front and a rear because although they are all the same (I think) I seem to remember one of mine has the slot to clear the seam between the wing and A-panel.

I've done a bit of fibreglass work and I don't think these would really lend themselves to being re-made in GRP because they sit flat against the body and so need to be a consistent thickness which isn't so easy (it's perfectly do-able but means far more care and attention needs to be taken which means time and skill levels are higher which puts costs higher). Carbon would likely be similar being a laminate too but tends to be easier to control in a consistent manner - this is more down to the manufacturing techniques being developed for it's common uses where consistency is an absolute requirement IMO.

What I reckon would lend itself to reproducing these fairly quickly and therefore cheaply is vacuum forming. They aren't a hugely deep shape, there are no returns and if I'm right about them all being the same then one form could be repeated 4 times for a car set (although nesting two in one form would probably give the optimal efficiency for the size of the form versus the number of operations to give you a product). You could also choose your plastic to be less brittle than GRP or CF which tend to suffer from cracks propagating at exposed edges.

Let me do some digging and I might look at making some or just sell the ones I've got.

Happy days, used these on my rally mk1 in late 60's. Unlike GRP or plastic, when you scraped them on the scenery, or we're assisted back on the road by spectators or marshals, they just bent. A simple job to straighten out in Aluminium.

Just read this thread, maybe this is he answer, get some fabricated in Aluminium...

Well mine are brand new still in the box,I don't mind letting use them as a mould aslong as
1 I get them back
2 I get a set of free carbon ones once you've done a few set

I'm fairly sure that they are all the same - if you see the set in the photo there's 4 stacked on top of each other.

Can those who have a full set confirm?
