Does it make much difference? I was going to use some micro bore 8mm copper for fuel lines, but not sure if this is suitable to carry a liquid such as petrol?

I always use plumbing 8mm pipe weather it's right or not I don't know but I know a few people that have used it for years without a problem so it's you're choice but I'm sure someone abit more clued up on the matter will be along shortly.

either will be suitable for the purpose of transporting the fuel to the tank as petrol wil affect neither , But why pure copper is not normall used is copper on its own can be brittle and can fracture, which is why brake lines are made of kunifer a copper non ferious mix.

No doubt the older vintage cars just used copper as kunifer wasn't around then, and I have seen fuel lines on old vintage stuff soldered up in a place or two.
