I wasn't looking for another project but seem to have ended up with one!! The plan is/was to do this one up and flog him but now I've got him I don't want to get rid!

Decent and proper mk3's are getting rare and as my first mini was a mk3 and Newman is the same year as me he could well be stopping!!

I bought him off ebay and picked him up today(in the snow)

He's just had oversills fitted and the guy says he cut the grot out and treated it beforehand, I have no reason to doubt him. If I sell him they'll stay, if I keep him they'll go

The Front end doesn't sit right so will need some work. The rest looks ok and just needs a load of bodywork and a repaint. The seats are good and just needs door cards and a carpet.

Even better he comes with a set of 7.5" brakes and a few other bits and bobs

Oh and he was named by Baby Shifty, we asked her what he was called and she said "new one" and wouldn't accept anything different, eventually we settled on Newman!!!!

Standard, apart from wheels, a set of cosmics would look good.

Welcome to the madness of TMF Newman! Let's hope you're hear to stay - it looks like you've passed the Baby Shifty test (major hurdle!) and crept into Shifty's heart too. Good work there :-)

Ok, now the Mpi is nearly finished(well in my head it is anyway!!), I've been giving this some thought!!

I've decided that I don't like the colour, and he's gonna be repainted Damsk Red, I think this suits a Mk3 really nicely. The spec will be utterly standard and he's gonna be mint!!

The first mini I can remember seeing is a Damsk red one, my Grandad was buying my mum a car and it was a choice between a green mk1 escort and and this red mini. I wanted mum to have the mini(I would have been about 4 at the time) but she had the escort!!

Looking forward to getting started!!
