awesome! i say keep it the original colour it should be but at least you are changing it to another inkeeping colour. is it a 998 or 850? im looking forward to seeing the progress :-)

He's a 998 with an 1/4 carb as well!!

It would be nice to keep him his original colour but its just not doing it for me. I've often thought about the first mini that I remember and have always liked damsk red as well.

i like the hs2 carb and the little air box. if you need another air box i have one you can have :-)

Yeah, the projects been snowballing nicely in my head!!!

What was gonna be a quick tart up and flog is now gonna be a balls out resto job!

I want him to be pretty much perfect.

Yeah, you don't see that many of them now and it makes a change for one to be a genuine mk3 and not a log book special.

I can only see them going up in value(which is justification for spending a fortune on this one!!)

I'll be in no rush to get him done, I just want him to be right.

I've decided that I don't like the colour, and he's gonna be repainted Damsk Red, I think this suits a Mk3 really nicely. The spec will be utterly standard and he's gonna be mint!!


Damask Red looks good. What colour interior as they came with Spanish Rose, Mink and Navy around that time.

MInes got a navy interior(I think) or black?

That should work well with the Dam(a)sk red!!!

good luck on finding anything other than navy or black ones!! so rare it gives me sleepless nights lol.
