In Mini magazine, February 2013, the Steve McQueen tribute Mini has fake door hinges fitted to a Mk4 car. It says these are supplied by Arc Angels.
Has anyone tried these? I can't find them on their website so any idea on cost?
Love that car.
Ask them?
They appear to Just bolt on really, not a big task, drill the holes take the door off bolt its too the A-Panel and then the same on the door.
The only difference being they actually have no structural use :)

But how do they open? They can't bolt to the A panel.....
What do you mean?
I think they're just like a normal hinge. But they don't hold the door up.

Oh yes and they are now £229.99.
It would help on their website to put fake or dummy in the title.....
Pair of inner mk1 a panels £35
Pair of mk3 a panels £20
Set of recon mk1 hinges £60-80
Plus a bit of welding, drilling and painting.

Lots of welding/painting and car off the road for duration of fitting versus a few minutes to stick on the hinges, job done.
I know they are expensive but I can see the appeal.

For the extra work while a project was already off the road for everything forward of the doors, sills etc, it worked out cheaper to fit proper mk1 hinges dispite the extra work.
