looking for some help with some damaged from a car crash , the car was parked up at the side of the road and a some ladie decided to smash into the front wing lucky they left a note and their insurance came out and checked the damage and told me the damge would cost 2,800 to fix and not worth the value of the car. I believe that the car is fixable for a lot less than that .

Here are some picture of the damage

. wing has been pushed in and bonnet does not shut and wing has pulled away from scuttle .
. A panel has been damaged and pushed into door and damaged/dented edge of door.
. the front wheel does not turn at the same time as the other wheel and locks and go every so often when you try and push it what could this be ? and what value would this cost to fix do you believe , the insurance have offered my car back and 1500 but the car will be a total loss so what cat does this go in and will i be able to get it straight back on road .

Can't help you on price of repairs, but as far as a "Write off" id concerned, it depends on the catagory it is given. Cat D....means repair and straight back on the road while Cat C...means repair and then a VIC check to apply for a new V5. Cat D usually means lighter damage than Cat C. Talk to the insurance company and request that, if it is recorded, they record it as a CAT D. Also remember that even when repaired, the car will be worth less because it has been a "Write off". You do not have to take the insurance company's first offer, they will usually negotiate.

Thanks for the reply , this is my pride and joy and I want it not to be a write off so will the insurance pay me to get the car fixed and not write it off.

Get a pre accident value on the car and then start negotiations

The engineers report will tell you what catagory the car is. Do not let the ins co take your car away for storage. It can stay with you.

As stated above do not accept the first offer and start finding comparable motors for sale so you can argue the value of your car to the tpi.

Had liability been admitted/accepted?
