I have a 998cc 1991 carb'd mini and i believe my manifold has cracked and will need to be replaced, what do you recommend?

I may replace the whole system but I use the car everyday so would like something with a bit of engine note but quite enough for long journeys.

Links to exhausts that you bought would be great too.

Cheers!
James

I'd go with a Maniflow 1 3/4" twin box system and a Cooper Freeflow manifold. They should also be able to provide you with a mounting kit for your age car.

I'm going with a cheery bomb, half and idea of what I'm doing and 6meters of steel tubing.

Cheapness powers, ACTIVATE.

But the RC40 is a good kit in general is recommended by most. With the Cooperfreeflow manifold. I used to have single box, I could make children cry with how loud it was.

Choose either the twin box RC40 or the Maniflow equivalent, both are quality, well developed systems and there really is little but personal preference between them.

If you are still using the standard cast manifold though, and you are planning to replace it with one of the aftermarket manifolds suggested here (Maniflow Freeflow etc), then you will also need to replace the inlet as well, because the standard inlet is joined to the standard exhaust manifold. At which point you may as well just buy a complete stage 1 kit, as the only components you wont have bought, will be the high flow air filter and correct carb needle.

Your other option is to replace the standard manifold/inlet with another standard item (used ones are cheap and readily available due to the popularity of aftermarket manifolds and stage 1 kits.) and then connect it to your performance exhaust of choice using a magic pipe. http://www.minispare...|Back to search
