I believe they're just supposed to be riveted over the top of the original steel panel to make it look pretty.Personally I can think of better ways to spend £150 on a Mini.

The point of using carbon fibre is that it's lightweight and strong. Neither of which are going to be relevant so I don't even see the point of it.
What's wrong with a seat?

It would look a lot smarter just carpeted in my opinion, carbon just looks chavvy and tacky

Alloy drive flanges, alloy rear hubs, better dampers, new cones, poly windows. The list goes on.

to me, it would just be spending money on useless crap, £150 for whats basically a cover and that does absolutely nothing, doesnt really add up to me, i could find so many other things to spend that money on

I cant say its worth the money but its your mini you can do what you want with it :) is there any way that it stiffens the chassis at all or is it just for show?

Buy a sheet of stickered carbon fibre, a lot cheaper and if you don't like it just peel it off. You wouldn't have lost much money that way.

The only way it could be functional is if you were to cut out the steel and brace it with steel tube (probably square) and then use it to cover the hole up. But you probably wouldn't loose to much weight. I'd Just strip the paint have it sprayed the same colour as your exterior. ;)

Its not a racing car, yet you want to spend 150 on a fancy cover that does nothing, but makes your car less practical? As tupers said, money best spent elsewhere.....
